AN EVENT MADE OF #WARMTH, #PASSION AND #ECLECTICISM

Beyond a basic collection only made of brand booths and resulting in a solely consumerist gathering, the organizers' wish is to invent and perpetuate an event not only business-oriented for its economic protagonists but also warm, entertaining and instructive thanks to an awesome program for its Visitors.

In addition to exhibitors – either private, institutional, freelance, key accounts or federal – organized into 12 different categories, the presence of invited european NGOs in favor environmental and social initiatives gives the event its very meaningful status, making it unmissable by a happy bunch of Verticality stakeholders in the years to come!

The event is designed for every kind of visitor, whover they are: from gear-oriented to destination-lovers enthusiasts, from beginners to experts, for the ordinary practitioners to high-level athletes, from leisure to competition issues, from boulder selective to mountaineering practice, for artificial routesetting to crag lovers, from hobby to professional approach... Catherine DESTIVELLE, 2019 Female Ambassador

Catherine Destivelle is the very first woman who climbed the three utmost north faces of the Alps in winter alone. Besides being a Himalayan and rock-climber, she is nowadays heading her own publishing house: 'Les Éditions du Mont-Blanc'.

Romain DESGRANGES, 2019 Male Ambassador

Romain Desgranges – twice European champion in 2013 and 2017 and lead-climbing French champion for four consecutive years in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 – has been a key athlete of the French national climbing team for several years, striving for the top of the podium at each World Cup.
« I'm personally a great climbing fan and throughout this event, together, we're going to celebrate climbing in every way… There will be a real hive of activity around this sport which is so dear to me. I couldn't imagine myself refusing to become its first Ambassador! »

Julia CHANOURDIE, 2021 Female Ambassador

Julia Chanourdie started a competitive career when she was 8 and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in 2019. Passionate about cliffs, she quickly became one of the few women sending in the 9th degree: 1st 9a (Ground Zero) - in Italy, then 9a+ (Super Crackinette) and 9b (Eagle 4) in Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux!

Seb BOUIN, 2021 Male Ambassador

Seb Bouin made history in 2015, with its 3rd ascent of Chilam Balam (9b) in Andalusia and enjoyed consecration in 2019 by achieving two 9b/+ (Move and La Rage d'Adam). He is currently one of the world's top sport rock climbers.
« Climbing has fascinated me since I was 12. It pushes me to discover new dizzying and staggering cliffs. This desire to climb more and more and share these moments does not lessen over time. For sure, I am happy to be the Ambassador of an event playing a central role in France for climbing development, and share this passion with so many enthousiasts! »

Solenne PIRET, 2022 Female Ambassador

Solenne Piret was born with an agenesis, depriving her of a right forearm. Her late passion for climbing is revealed the day she realizes her disability is actually a strength and “wonders what she would do with two hands”. Triple Paraclimbing World Champion, she wishes she motivate others by surpassing herself first.

François DAMILANO, 2022 Male Ambassador

François Damilano is a mountain guide based in Chamonix, invested in writing and filming, who shares his passion for altitude from the Alps to the Himalayan peaks. Pioneer in ice-climbing, he clearly brought his contribution to the rise of the discipline in the medias.
« Being an Ambassador is an honor, an acknowledgement, a responsibility and part of my job as witness and narrator. Because a guide accompanies and shares, in the mountains, in the scriptures, and trough meetings. At the Show, I'll get in touch with all those who practice rock climbing, who are dreaming of distant horizons, and want to share. I'll be there to watch and listen, too… »

Stéphanie BODET, 2023 Female Ambassador

Stéphanie Bodet won the Bouldering World Cup in 1999 and was the 3rd woman to free-climb El Capitan in Yosemite. Sharing her passion and travelling the world with Arnaud Petit, she is now primarily a writer and lecturer, and climbs mainly on natural rocks of France.

A great opportunity to share with visitors my love for rock-climbing, words and vertical travel, and I hope my presence helps raise awareness among young climbers for the need to preserve cliffs, as it's our living heritage shared with numerous fascinating species »

Symon WELFRINGER, 2023 Male Ambassador

Symon Welfringer had a passion for climbing from an early age, competing in the French Youth, European and International Cups. Today he is a top-level Trad' climber and a 9th degree climber! Being an avid mountaineer, he devotes himself wholeheartedly and full-time to the mountains and expeditions, winning a 'Piolet d'Or' in 2021 and achieving a major first in 2023 with his two rope-mates on the Walker route of the Grandes Jorasses.
« I've been involved in climbing since I was very young, first indoors and in competitions, and now on expeditions all over the world, thus very honoured to be an Ambassador for the Salon de l'Escalade.
