A PREMIERE IN THE MOST ICONIC VENUE IN EUROPE: PARIS EXPO / PORTE DE VERSAILLES!

After 4 resounding releases in Lyon and Grenoble, the Salon de l'Escalade is now heading to Paris.

2.2 million and 12.2 million inhabitants live respectively inner-city and in the Paris Region and France's leading metropolis boasts the highest density and amount of clubs and private gyms, along with the largest number of climbers. Key figures potentially making the Salon de l'Escalade the No.1 gathering of climbers in France!

In addition, with Paris directly accessible from any city in France and less than 3 hours from all European capitals, the event could well become the largest gathering of climbers in the whole of Europe!

Last but not least, one venue outshines all others locally. Known as Europe's leading park in the number of events organized, as an unrivalled international meeting point, as an emblematic venue inner-city with its roots in Parisian culture for hosting the capital's most prestigious events, we are proud - from now on - to call the Parc des Expositions de la Porte de Versailles our venue!

Easy to reach as of entering the complex, welcome to the 5600sqm, 8m-high Hall 5.1!

A PREMIERE FOR OUR "TROPHÉES DE LA VERTICALITÉ" AWARDS

This Paris premiere will also see the launch of a new initiative to celebrate and reward outstanding contributions to our ecosystem: the "Trophées de la Verticalité" awards.

The aim of the event is to highlight and promote the projects and people who are actively working to develop the practice of Climbing across 5 specific categories:

• ECOLOGICAL INITIATIVE
This trophy will be awarded to an initiative or project having a significant impact on environmental protection in the field of climbing. For example: the use of recycled materials for equipment, clean-up campaigns at climbing sites, environmental awareness actions, etc.

• CONTENT CREATION
Aimed at content creators, this trophy will be awarded to one of the players who has captivated, educated or inspired the climbing community through videos, blogs, photos, podcasts, etc.

• SOCIAL INCLUSION
The Social Inclusion Trophy will reward an initiative aiming at making climbing accessible to a wider and more diverse audience. This includes programs for people with disabilities, initiatives to include ethnic minorities and actions promoting gender parity in the sport, etc.

• SAFETY
This trophy will recognize an initiative aimed at improving climbing safety. This could include new belay device systems, safety awareness campaigns or research into safe climbing techniques, etc.

EITHER DEPTH OR PEAKS? FEED YOUR PASSION FOR BOTH ON 2 TRADESHOWS!

Are you more a sea- or mountains-person? In Paris on January 2025, you deserve to be both!

In fact, those with a passion for the underwaters or overwaters will enjoy a tradeshow for each:
- The Salon International de la Plongée Sous-Marine, Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 of January 2025,
- The Salon de l'Escalade, Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 of January 2025.

In fact and counterintuitively, these 2 have more in common than you might think!
- Beginners and enthusiasts alike, for both leisure and competition practices,
- Stakeholders made up of public, private, institutional, federal and association players, some of whom will be exhibiting at both events!
- Practices that require learning the rules and raising awareness of risk management during discovery/improvement stays, notably in clubs with instructors, themselves instructed by trainers,
- Practices both indoors (pools, pits vs. artificial climbing walls) and outdoors (marine, river, lake, cave vs. real rock: mountains, cliffs, boulders) - the latter being a pretext for planning and carrying out trips, excursions or even expeditions, along with environmental protection issues,
- Respective representatives in the Rescue, Military, Workers (scuba divers/cordists), Sports Educators (diving instructors vs. climbing instructors and guides),
- Activities that may require specific equipment, notably 'personal protective equipment',
- Disciplines focusing attention on breathtaking expeditions, whether in very deep waters vs. untouched summits,
- Adherents of 'extreme' practices: apnea vs. free solo...

And many other similarities to discover, despite the inverted altimetry!

For the respective organizers, bringing these events together now seemed obvious, notwithstanding their different histories and notoriety: 26th edition and 65,000 visitors for 'Plongée' vs. 5th and 5,000 visitors (in Lyon/Grenoble editions) for 'Escalade'!

It should also be pointed out that, without the generous and recurrent help of Salon de la Plongée's President - Hélène de Tayrac - the Salon de l'Escalade would probably just not exist... Many thanks to her on behalf of all those who make and live the Show!

To formalize the complicity of our events and enable as many enthusiasts as possible to enjoy these complementary universes, a discount on the ticket price for visitors to both Shows will be activated!

Get ready to 'dive' into the world of Verticality AND get 'high' in the world of depths... unless it's the other way around!
